Dirty 30 for 30 Day 28: Rick Williams

I know you didn’t think I was going to put together a whole month of Detroit tastemakers presenting sneakers and not include myself. I am the co-owner of the BEST sneaker shop in the Mid-West! Anyway, today I’m presenting a sample of a sneaker that we put together for Reebok that for now will never be produced. This shoe takes its inspiration from the golden era of hip hop. The wardrobe of this time period was filled with some of the most classic pieces. The materials used on this Reebok Nightstorm like the nubuck, gum rubber, rip-stop nylon, camo, and mesh, all come from pieces that we used to wear back in the day. Pieces like Polo of Nautica jackets (rip-stop nylon), Timberland Boots (Nubuck/Gum Rubber), and ACG hiking boots (Mesh and Laces) to name a few. I can’t forget the all too popular camouflage (the shoe lining), which is a trend that has made its way right back into popular culture. We have decided to go with the more wearable grey color-way that Mike Posner presented earlier in the month. Check it out and let me know what you think.
